Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States. I have many blessings to be thankful for, including the blogging community. Thank you all for being so welcoming, supportive, and inspirational.
I’m also thankful for the simple pleasures in life, not the least of which is the delightful absurdity of a shaggy dog story set to music.
I give you Arlo Guthrie performing “Alice’s Restaurant,” as only he can do it. (If you are of the “Will you get to the point, Kid?” persuasion, this song might very well send you around the bend.)

  1. I do love Arlo! I am thankful for you, Liz, so glad you are part of my blogging community. One day we’ll get together, maybe at the Guthrie Center in Great Barrington. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  2. Enjoy your Thanksgiving! It seems like a lovely tradition (we don’t have it in Sweden) and I think the more one reflects on what one has to be thankful for, the more one finds. It’s an exercise one should do more doften, for sure. 🙏

    1. Thank you for the Thanksgiving best wishes, Brian. I’m glad to be off Twitter. I much prefer the blogging community. I’m looking forward to the first draft’s rest period being up in January so I can get started on a developmental edit.

      1. From what I’ve seen form afar, I’ve never really been tempted by Twitter. Though like I said, I have an account somewhere…
And yes, the blogging community seems much more… civilized…
        Take a good rest.

  3. Liz, my Thanksgiving was too hectic to have time to get to this post until now, many days later. It was still nice to be reminded of what I just celebrated and why. And it was a hoot to finally listen to the entire rendition of something I’ve been aware of most of my life but—amazingly!—until now had heard only the refrain for.

I guess you’re never too old to catch up with the culture of your youth. My gratitude to you!
